Malaysia trip yet again!

So I finally went into Malaysia after like 4 months? And it's A&W again! Went in with YC and Ray, or Chris as he wants to be known as now. Hahaha

A&W's different now. Quality of beef burgers are the worst i've ever eaten in any fast-food restaurant! ): the waffles are still okay I guess (: curly fries and root beer floats in frosted mugs are still da bomb! :-D still as nice as ever.

Trying A&W is no more a want or need, it has turned into sth like, 'I wanna try it for the sake of trying it because there's no chances to try it in SG.'

So after that meal we simply walked around in Aeon Bukit Indah. Found a store called the Brands Outlet. Had like graphic tee and plain tees all selling like 3 for $50. Managed to have my size, shared with a friend and I got 2 for myself! (:

Spootacular Dry Run!

Was in Sentosa ytd for Spootacular Dry Run! Reached there around 1pm and had to climb a mini hill to reach the tented area ):

Once there, I met up with the Chia twins (Christina and Christine) and Mohsien was late. Haha but we waited till like 3+ before we got our makeup started and roles given.

Finally it was done! And we had to eat our early dinner with our makeup on! :-/

Then finally we were brought to our individual stations and briefed and finally stationed. Myself, Mohsien and Christina and two other girls were stationed at CineBlast! Originally was at 4D Magix but not sure why they changed :-/

Cousin's Birthday!

Like Blogger's new iPhone app. Let's me update anywhere I go! :-D now I'm at The Fullerton attending my cousin's wedding dinner with my parents and grandparents :-D

Food's really awesome! And the environment's great. However I suspect the Ballroom I'm in now used to be a carpark. Hmmm.

Oh anyways, groom's suave, bride's beautiful (: groom's a lawyer and the bride's still furthering studies from Business discipline to a Law one. Seems like the perfect match for each other! Wish for them to stay together forever! :-D

Currency trip!

Went by 1 stall in Bugis St, uncle seemed Bo-chup and didn't get much info from him other than that he only wants big stacks of old notes such ad in stacks of 100 pieces -.-

Then we headed to Fu Lu Shou Complex, named as such due to the painting of the 3 iconic Chinese deities on one of the walls on the external facade. Managed to find that one shop dealing with fengshui stuffs and old currencies.

And they had this display cabinet outside the shop's entrance and they had one whole intact piece of $10 current Singapore currency as the 'wallpaper'!! New from Singapore Mint and uncut! :-D woah that was an eye-opener for me. Sth new (: okay I abit suaku la hor. Haha

China guy served us first but later, an uncle who seemed like the boss, came out and served us. And he was really friendly and honest! :-D

He took a look at Ain's notes and gave his advice on these notes. He advised her to keep the $5 'Bird' Series notes as it will only gain more value ad years go by, especially after the current 'Portrait' Series, or also known by some as the Yusof bin Ishak Series.

The uncle said that each of our current Singapore currency usually will discontinue after 12 years and the 'Portrait' Series was introduced in 1999, which makes it exactly 12 years this year! :-D

Can't find a similarity between them? Well I'm referring to Singapore currencies! Been a mini collector all the while but never had the opportunities and finances to better my collection :-/

My little passion for this was reignited when I acc Ain to sell off her old Singapore banknotes. She had a stack of 20 of the blue $1 'Boat' Series in sequential order; 3 pieces of the $5 'Bird' Series and 2 or 3 pieces of the $10 'Boat' Series.

Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011

Yeah i'm back to volunteering for Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore again! :D

After a 2-year hiatus, I'm volunteering once again for this major iconic StanChart marathon event. I had volunteered as Baggage Crew in 2007 with TPSU, then as Route Marshall in 2008 with BSC (: those were the days...

Now i'm back after my friend Kenneth roped me in. SCSM2011 needed a lot of volunteers and volunteer leaders. Thus thru him, Ain and I volunteered for the position of 'Key Junction Supervisor' and we got it! :D haha we had to go thru a phone interview of course.

Then last Saturday, 1st October we 3 went thru a Service Excellence Course, which is very similar to what i learnt in ITE, Service Excellence (SVE). We went to this APEX Building under the Singapore Sports Council at Kallang, nearest to Mountbatten MRT Station. It rained crazily that Ain and I wasted too much time waiting for a cab. Then the rain lessened much, so we decided to walk across to the building, a simple 1-level airconditioned (heng ah) place :D

needless to say, it was boring. but they provided biscuits and water :D so it was cool. HAHA

we have 3 more key sessions to attend before the main event in Dec 4 2011.

This friday i'll be heading back to Bishan to return my F1 uniform with my friend :D then we'll be heading down to Fu Lu Shou Complex to acc my friend to sell off her old Singapore notes. Hopefully the rates there are good enough! I have a mini collection here and comtemplate selling them off too. However i also wish to keep the notes i have! So if anyone has old notes and doesn't want to sell off or use them, please tell me k! :D

WC will be coming back from Vietnam this Saturday! hope he has a safe journey back! Will try to meet him up with my other TP classmates next Tues. hope for a steamboat together! WOOHOO!

school will be starting soon! right after my birthday... :-/ so it's time to meet up with friends before a hectic 2nd semester starts! Might be heading out with ITE classmates next Wed :D

Higher car prices in the future for youths my age or younger now

Govt. says they will lower the limit of new vehicular growth in Singapore from next year. This will definitely increase the prices of new cars in the future ad the number of new cars available decreases.

It's now 1.5% of cars produced, down from 3% in pre-2009 years. However, the govt. says zero growth is not possible. We'll see what happens in the future.

Like what my friend said, in the future, a Chery QQ might cost what a Cefiro costs now and a Sunny might cost what a Lexus cost now

Final Day for Political Donations and Minorities Forms Submission

A total of 39 Malay Minority Certificates and 32 Indian or Other Minority Certificates were received. These are required by members of minority ethnic communities who contest the General Election in a Group Representaion Constituency (GRC).

208 applications for Political Donation Certificates were received, which means there will be a minimum of 208 candidates for the upcoming General Election.

On the final day for submitting the applications, the National Solidarity Party's likely team for Marine Parade GRC was the first to arrive at the Elections Department. They include Mr Ivan Yeo, Mr Spencer Ng, Mr Abdul Salim Harun and Ms Nicole Seah.

Representatives from the Singapore People's Party, the Singapore Democratic Alliance and the Singapore Democratic Party turned up as well.

SDP candidate James Gomez said his party submitted more than 11 application forms for the political donation and minority candidate certificates, as it wanted flexibility in fielding the best candidates for the General Election.

The SDP has formally introduced 11 candidates so far.

Representatives of the People's Action Party's (PAP) likely Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC slate were also present to collect the updated Registers of Electors.

Meanwhile, Reform Party secretary-general Kenneth Jeyaretnam was present at the same time as his former party member Alec Tok, who was submitting his application for the political donation certificate. They did not speak to each other.

When asked, Mr Tok said he will announce today if he is contesting in the coming polls as an independent candidate or under another party's banner.

The artistic director of a theatre company had been hoping to stand in the Radin Mas ward but said yesterday that much has changed in the last 24 hours.

"This is the penultimate stage. I should have a definite answer by this evening. I believe I'll be in a position (to say) tomorrow what my plans are," said the 46-year-old.

Shortly after, PAP grassroots adviser in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC Christopher De Souza turned up to collect the political donation certificates on behalf of all the party's potential candidates as they were ready, he said.

Party Political Broadcasts

All political parties contesting the upcoming election will be given air-time on radio and tv to broadcast their political platforms and messages, the Media Development Authority (MDA) announced on Saturday, 23 April 2011.

The first broadcasts will be aired next Thursday, 28 April 2011, one day after Nomination Day and the second will be on Friday, 6 May 2011 or known as the 'Cooling Off Day', which is on the eve of the Polling Day on Saturday, 7 May 2011.

Eligibility will be determined by the number of candidates fielded by a recognised political party.

Air time for each party is allocaed beased on the number of contesting candidates, ranging from 2.5 minutes for a party with 6 - 7 candidates fielded to 12 minutes for a party with 80 - 87 candidates.

The pre-recorded broadcasts will be in 4 languages.

Said the MDA statement: 'All the broadcasts will be on a party basis. They should not contain matter of a libellous or criminal nature.

'The purpose of such broadcasts is to make clear a political party's platform.'

Speakers nominated by the parties for the broadcasts must be candidates standing for election, added the MDA.

Released details on Polling Stations & Nomination Centres

[Thursday, 21 April 2011]

Voters will receive their poll cards within 2 - 3 days after Nomination Day on 27 April 2011, if their constituencies are contested.

If all the 12 Single-Member Constituencies (SMCs) and 15 Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs) are contested, all 782 polling stations islandwide will be opened concurrently for the first time since independence for Singapore to cast their vote.

Overseas voters will have nine polling centres abroad.

Votes will then be counted at 163 counting centres when voting closes at 8pm on Polling Day, 7 May 2011.

Till this date, 42 applications for the Political Donations Certificate has been received so far.

All candidates, proposers, seconders and assentors are to bring along their Identity Cards (NRIC) or passports for verification on Nomination Day.

Any objections to the Nomination Papers can be made from 11am - 12.30pm.

Placards, flags or banners of any candidate can only be displayed at the nomination centres after the close of nomination proceedings.

That's also when candidates can make speeches at the centres.

There will be nine nomination centres for the coming General Election:

- Admiralty Secondary School for Nee Soon GRC & Sembawang GRC candidates.

- Bedok View Secondary School for East Coast GRC, Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC & Punggol East SMC candidates.

- Deyi Secondary School for Ang Mo Kio GRC, Aljunied GRC, Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, Sengkang West SMC candidates.

- Dunman Secondary School for Tampines GRC & Hougang SMC candidates.

- Greenridge Secondary School for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC & Bukit Panjang SMC candidates.

- Jurong Junior College for Jurong GRC, West Coast GRC, Yuhua SMC and Pioneer SMC candidates.

Elections Department's update on state of readiness for Nomination Day and Polling Day.

- Nearly 20,000 officials have been trained for these proceedings. Among the training received are simulation exercises and e-learning classes.

- A Handbook have been produced for the first time. This 60-page cooklet lists what one should know about the election and filling election expenses after Polling Day.

Writ of Election issued!

President S. R. Nathan issues Writ of Election on the same day, shortly after the 11th Parliament of Singapore was dissolved by him as well. He also announced that the Nomination Day will be on Wednesday, 27 April 2011.

The Returning Officer, Mr Yam Ah Mee, the new CEO of the People's Association, Mr. , announced that the decisive Polling Day will be on Saturday, 7 May 2011, which will also be a Public Holiday.

The appointment was made by the Prime Minister and published in the online government gazette on Tuesday.

Mr Yam's term as Returning Officer begins on 1 June 2010.

The former Returning Officer was Mr Tan Boon Huat, who has retired.

Unchanged from the previous elections in 2006, there will be 9 Nomination Centres.

A total of 2,311,582 Singaporeans are eligible to vote in the upcoming polls. More than 1/4 will be youths, aged between 21 and 34. Some 200,000 are first-time voters.

The law states that Nomination Day - when candidates head to nomination centres to present their papers - must take place at least five working days (Saturdays included) or the maximum of one month after the writ is issued

Candidates can only start their election campaigns after nominations close and right up to two days before polling day. The campaign period must last at least nine days.

In the last General Election, 47 seats were contested, making it the most-pitched battle since 1988. This time round, the number of seats contested is expected to come close to that fought in 1988, when 86 per cent of seats were contested

There are 87 seats in 27 constituencies - 12 single- member constituencies and 15 Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs) - to be contested this time round

HELLO! a happy new year to all! :D start of a new decade, everything's gonna be great! :D

This is the first time i'm spending my NYE-NYD transition not in Singapore! haha i'm currently on Leisure World, a 'Luxury Liner' as said by them. but in fact the main attraction of this place is actually the casino! there are like 3 over here! one at lvl 3 with two small levels within it, the second one is on lvl 6, a relatively bigger one with digitalized roulette and the final one on lvl 7, with some slotws and full of tables! tables like blackjack, cabaret of course~ :P

it's soo different from celebrating in Singapore. From over here at the ship, they do have their own countdown inside their nightclub, but it's filled with families, uncles, aunties and ship crew, including china ladies dressed like dunno what. HAHAHA so by 11pm it was filled to the bar, so i didn't want to go in. it was also noisy and hyped up, with some Malaysian singer and his dancers. haha hokkein songs around!!

soo it's packed and i decided to go up to the open deck with my mum, wanting to catch some fireworks from Marina Bay. i know it's a LITTLE BIT far from singapore but yeah, we kept our hopes high :D

there we met an uncle who told us about the different experience counting down aboard a ship. due to the fact this Leisure World is permanently docked in the middle of the Indonesian waters, there were alot of ships around us, with one structure looking like an oil rig (didn't know there's oil in Indonesia!)

then we saw a little light faraway in the front direction of the ship, i started video-ing away. it was really really far but we saw sth. then came the A LITTLE BIGGER fireworks. managed to make out the shap of the fireworks but it's like the size of a 50-cent coin from aboard the ship. hahaha then the great view came.

all of us were shocked by the sudden horn made by the ship we're on!! it lasted for like at least 15 seconds! then few other ships followed suit, with a lot of them shooting their emergency flares!! :DDD it's like the red thingy shooting up the dark skies!! in addition to the horning, the feeling's soo different!! :D it's soo cool!! :D

AND AND! i managed to catch small fireworks displays from Malaysia and Indonesia!! cool or what!! woohoo!! :DDD

now currently using the ship's paid internet. soo Happy New Year to everyone! Happy New Year to my honey! :D

it didn't stop there. though we didn't had much meetups, other than one trip to Bliss and one trip to the pool area. but my love kept growing, for her (:

then, BOOM. they ended. didn't want to know what happened, i continued being both of their friends. then i started getting closer to her, as a friend. but i understand the awkwardness when she used to belong to your friend, and of course, i didn't want rumours to start begin and it might smear her reputation ):

so i waited. i forgot what made me do it, but i think it was a few weeks before her birthday when i sort of, 'made my move'. heehee :P "***********************************************************************"
had to keep this between us too :P

i think that gave me confidence and motivation. so i pressed on. haha i started to text her more and more and so called, 'flirted' with her. think it worked. (: (: i finally got to talk to her like everyday! :D

everything that happens after that, it's a long story, a really really long one in fact. (: (: but i am enjoying every single day with her (:

i need to state, that i'm not together with her, yet :P i'm still trying my best to woo her and i hope she will really accept me one day. i know she's trying too (: i understand her. i know there will be something nice that will happen between us (: i'm waiting for that day (: (:

think this post is about the sweet sticky stuff you like to eat? :P nah, but it's about stuffs, that are sweet as well (: even sweeter than honey.

It's about, her (: My Her (:

i met her under normal circumstances. real normal, at a coffeeshop. "********************************************************************************" had to keep some story between me and her :P

it took a few more times meeting up with her, then i started to realize, i was falling for her deeper and deeper. it's kinda weird. people say love at first sight, mine wasn't so, mine was like, interest at first sight, more interest at second sight, and it goes on, you know what i mean :D

we even went camping together! at ECP! haha it was really interesting! it was the first time i went to her house (hoped i remembered this correctly!) for preparations for this camping. i dunno why we didn't do BBQ.

we merely prepared some fruit cocktails with canned fruit cocktails, some sausages which they did but microwaved it before leaving the house and i suggested placing cheese onto the sausages, something which i THINK i didn't regret doing. haha

we got the camping facilities from our friend, it's called Big Bear Camping. it was nice, not THAT warm. haha

we took a place RIGHT OUTSIDE the toilet, both good and bad :-S hahaha we just spent the night there doing all sorts of things, from chit chatting, sitting by the sea and playing cards and some slap-your-friend's-lap games. hahaha

i still remember, rabbit rabbit pig pig :P

whenever i got the chance, i would actually talk to her or find some place to sit closer to her. i think she doesn't know this :P well the girls had some sleep inside the tent and the guys basically went around for food, or just chat till dawn.

then we had the guys back to collect the tentage and we packed our stuffs and head back. her sister went back earlier already and our other friends went back on their own too (: so it was left with me, her and that nobody :P we managed to send the sleepy pretty lady back home and i and that guy went home too (:

woots! went back to Sands to work. Bell department this time! started my first day as a bellboy last weekend on Friday on 26 Nov. Got AL for this! COOL! :D

Bell was alright but mostly tiring, then tips came in. though little but at least sth :P duties include putting luggages up shelves, tagging them, scanning them and recording all these in black and white.

Was assigned to Crystal Tower 1 Outbound Storage but went to Topaz Tower 1 Outbound Storage on my last day :P

All the luggage storage areas are named after precious gems.

Yesterday was my first day at the Cat's Eye Tower 3 Inbound & Outbound Storage Area. Though it's BOTH inbound and outbound, the storage area is much smaller than Topaz's, thus having limited space to work in ):

but nearing the end of the day, i became the TAXI-BOY, or what aaron calls me. What do I do? Open cab doors, close them, put luggage in the boot. haha but it seemed fun, 'controlling' cabs :P

gonna start work in 7 hours' time but waking up in 5 hours' time so gonna sleep now! :D

Ever wondered, why you did so much things and put in so much effort, you don't really get appreciated?

does love really work this way? i know i said i wouldn't mind giving and not taking, i'm still sticking with that. but it's inevitable that one would still feel the disappointment no matter what...

ytd i tried to sleep earlier and tried to wake up today to give her a surprise. she said she doesn't know how to go to her event place, so i researched and found a route for her that does not require her to walk under the sun nor get drenched by rain. i was worried that she would not know where to alight so i decided to give her a surprise by finding her at the bus interchange.

i even thought of what to tell her and her friend, in case her friend asked why am i doing here. i was soo looking forward to seeing her... it's been days since i last seen her ): i even brought an umbrella along, coz it's raining at hougang...

but who knows, all of a sudden, everything's gone, just like that.

i should be more understanding yes, that's why i didn't tell her all these... i really hope she would understand every single thing i do and open her heart up to me. i really wish for sth to happen for us (: i'm soo looking forward to have her by my side for the rest of my life (:

we had our ADB project meeting today at National Library! Though only me, Andre and Ary, we had fun and managed to get some things done.... =X

we were at The Courtyard on Level 5 in the National Library. haha were darn draggy but still managed to get some things done, like 10%? =X heh.

after that we walked to this teh stall near Haji Lane. quite nice teh, as recommended
by Andre and Sly. haha spent like 1hr there =X

after a short few years at the Floating Platform, National Day Parade 2010 returns to the Padang! =D the oh-so-classic venue for our country's many events and milestones, The Padang sets to bring back memories of the older days but injected with great spectacular display!

This makes me wonder, though, then WHY build the Floating Platform? hmmm.

Whatever. Now that NDP is back to Padang, I WANT TO GO!! i never watched an NDP at the Padang. i want to go.... =(

a report from London (Reuters) - researchers said that people working 10 or 11 hours a day are more likely to suffer serious heart problems, including heart attacks, than those clocking off after seven hours. It doesn't show a direct link but an indirect one.

Working one or two hrs beyond the normal 7hr shift is alright coz we have some level of threshold for this. Working for like 10hrs or 11hours might cause us to have work-related stress!! Plus if our diet is badly-managed or if have smoking habits, our risk of getting heart problems will increase!! =X

so don't work too hard, and have great amounts of rest!

seriously, can we do this? After so-called 'public shaming' of the ruling Brown's govt., will our ruling party accept this LIVE TV Debate. Will SPH even want to hold this? they'll definitely find a lo of excuses, such as because it's LIVE, talking abt sensitive topics, the situation will be more dangerous or risky. PRECISELY because it is LIVE, they WILL NOT broadcast it!

LIVE, as defined by dictionary.com, '(of a radio or television program) broadcast while happening or being performed; not prerecorded or taped: a live telecast.' It is not prerecorded nor taped, so nothing can change whatever is happening, and definitely, cannot be censored. This should be the main reason why they won't have this LIVE TV Debate.

But my stand is, I STILL WANT A LIVE TV DEBATE IN SINGAPORE! LET'S BE MORE LIBERAL! Since 14-year-old girls are getting more liberal, WHY CAN'T WE?

My Opinion on SiS (Speech in Singapore)

I am just another ordinary fat boy you see walking down the HDB void deck or Orchard Road. I am like a lot other youths in Singapore. I look normal, I do not have any outstanding records, I am not smart academically, I do not speak good English, I am an everyday ambassador for Singlish, I am not that good in sports. I am just another guy on the road.

But that should not stop me, or other people similar to me, to speak up and out!

Yes I might not have that standard of English that some of you guys use, I might not be able to churn out much facts and statistics like the experts do, I might not be able to use the profound words and phrases that the politicians do, I might not be able to have those 'Read-Between-The-Lines' meanings embedded in my speech like critics do. But I have an opinion. And I WANT to let my opinions be heard!

I have friends, colleagues and fellow mates telling me to shut up and speak softer or just simply, be 'bo chup' and don't care about all these. Maybe it is my personality, maybe this is my way of life, I want to fight for what I feel is right, I want to express my concerns, views and disagreements.

Who says only the top-ranking people gets to say what they want? Who says only words and phrases from the educated gets to be heard? Who says ITE students does not have a view of their own? Who says the words that come out from me, an ITE student, is unreliable, nonsensical and biased? WHOSE SPEECH ISN'T BIASED? At any point of time, there WILL BE some bias in any speech because we are humans. What I feel is that, with opinions, views and objections from various people, leads to constructive thinking and far more efficient and effective results.

So please, Singapore and her people, START listening to EVERYONE around you. An 8-year-old kid might have his or her own opinions such as the cleaniless of the restroom or the food given to them. A 21-year-old youth might have his or her own opinions such as the friends he or she chooses, the food he or she wants to eat, the things he or she wants to do or what clothes he or she wants to wear. A 70-year-old grandparents might have his or her own opinions such as what he or she thinks best for his or her grandchildren. EVERYONE's opinion is SOMETHING. Do not ignore them just because he or she is from a lower-income group, have a lower education background, old, too young, or simply just because you do not like that person.

Everyone deserves a chance to speak. As long as there is no insult or vulgarities involved, I do not see any reason why Speech in Singapore should be restricted.

our YEC was tasked with organising a Policy Forum this time round after playing taiji for a few times... So we did it! A success! at Giraffe restaurant in the Istana Park. Took up the whole 2nd floor which was so darn nice!

Our GOH was Minister Lim Hwee Hwa. we also invited one of the members of the 1st Singaporean Female Mount Everest Team and also an ex-Miss Singapore Universe who was recently interviewed in a Channel 8 show. our chairman was the moderator for the forum.

wasn't up there so didn't know what's gg on but saw from the news that Minister Lim talked about politics at some point of time and that was a little interesting. this is a policy forum targeted at women btw.

were doing registration and 'umbrella-valet'. had dozens of umbrellas with 2 exceptionally huge ones. shyt, remembered about a Carlsberg umbrella and i'm darn sad ='( that's another story. k back to this, nth much actually. had their buffet by Giraffe restaurant machiam tapas food, damn nice, loved it! :D

last Sunday i was 'tricked' into a bowling competition. hahaha my chairman told me it's a bowling game with Minister but on the day, i saw "Bedok Reservoir - Punggol Constituent Sports Club Bowling Competition 2010" and i was like, RIGHT, what have i got myself into. but oh wells, it's for the fun...

didn't bowl really well in the 1st game, score below 50 =( SUCKY. haahha i tot that was the end of it and i was destined to be the bottom cushion of the ranking table... Then, 2 MORE GAMES! COOLSSSSSS HAD 3 FREE GAMES! =D like fun only. hehe

scored a couple of spares in the next game and got to a score of 123. Easy-to-rmb number :D then dropping to only 70+ in my 3rd game when i tried to do some stunts and got 2 rather, weak hook balls. hahaha

overall Male ranking, 3 of my team of 4 guys were at the bottom with me a few slots above them =D not that bad for my 1st ever competition at the alleys =D

KUANTAN, KUANTAN!

WOOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOO BLAZE2 IS BRINGING ME TO KUANTAN, MALAYSIA! =D

my first timne to Kuantan! hope to have fun and learn alot of things there with my fellow BLAZE2 mates!! F.Y.I BLAZE = Basic Leadership ActivitiZE. the name bit stupid ah but well, i'm enjoying the company! :D

we'll be there for 4 days! leaving tmr, it's from this Tuesday to Friday (23rd March - 26th March)!

we'll be staying in a resort hotel, as i heard. and it's a little further in... but it has airconditioned rooms =D

we'll leave Singapore in early morning then reach Kuantan in the afternoon for lunch and visit to the old folks' home to interact with them and entertain them.

then the 2nd day we'll visit a local secondary school!! we'll be brought around their school and gallery and be entertained by their Champion Silat team and they host us for lunch! SO NICE. we'll also entertain them with musicals, sharing sessions and other stuffs.

as for the 3rd day.... IT'S FUN, JOY AND LAUGHTER! =D we'll go HIKING at a waterfall, have a PICNIC then go exploring in a CAVE!! WOOOTSS SO FUNNNN ^^ and we'll be sitting in an open-top lorry to go in! =D WOW THAT WILL BE INTERESTING! hahahha

the 4th day is when we'll come home~~ but not before SHOPPING!! a few hrs of those and we'll head back to Singapore by coach again for long hrs~

will enjoy this trip =D

no i didn't visit any of the attractions there but i saw alot alot alot of people and RWS buses packed!!

WOW IT WAS SO POPULAR!

and no they weren't there for the rides, they were there for the....

yeah coz it's like 10+pm so... well had a walk ard the small areas of the casino and Hotel Michael. took pictures almost everywhere, machiam like tourist!! i reallly liked the design and architectural style of the RWS. very beautifully drawn and placed =D

then there was this small area that resembles a viewing pavilion. it oversees the scultures with the fountains. and the fountains can be operated manually but it takes time to 'reload' though. hahaah

then this stone thingy below ur feet MOVES!! :D WOOOOOOH

buffet @ Furama Waterfront!

had buffet dinner at Furama Waterfront just now with my mum and her classmates! it's a 1-for-1 offer so it's relatively cheap @ $26 per person! it's sort of an international buffet, with cheese slices and chocolate fondue! =D

the food is quite nice but variety is limited. fondue isn't hot at all, that was disappointing. but overall, i enjoyed my dinner there so it's ok. but it's definitely NOT worth the usual price of more than $40 per person. didn't take pictures though... sort of forgot. heh =X

City Alive! 2010

woohooooooo ended City Alive! it was tiring! not because it's tough but because there were nth much to do =X

Chingay ended quite on time at ard 9.30pm... then we waited to go into the area in front of the Pit Building to set up the logistics and that's when we saw Bryan Wong, Quan Yi Feng and Gurmit Singh. quite dao though. HAHA

we chionged the signages and barricades... finished set up ard 10.20pm. then we started slacking at the VIP seating (RED). then we had to pick up all rubbish left from the Chingay parade and throw it in front to help the cleaners clean up cuase there were only 2 cleaners and it wasn't efficient enuff.
after which we started slacking =X then we witnessed PAYM's FLASH MOB! DAMN FRIGGIN' COOL!!! 1st time i witnessed a flash mob in front of me in reality! =D HAHAHA WOOTS!

after that. nth to do liao. we were on standby (or SLACK) till 4am =.= so we walked thru the dancing crowd, tried dancing, saw some funny scenes and went up the Media bus!!! =D and and i got my hair SPRAYED! :O

it finally ended at 4am. we cut here and dere and tried to collect all banners and signage that we set up. then off we go back to the volunteer briefing room to collect our $25! hahahaha breakfast money settled :D but only 1min or so after we settled down in the shiok shiok aircon room... we were called to collect the oil drums back!!! WE HAD FUN ROLLING THE OIL DRUMS!! HAHHA SO FUNNNNN ^^

well it was a good experience though. had Mac Breakfast Deluxe at 6am! quite filling! GOOD =D

1) Crowd Control

Job Scope: Maintain crowd control at the entry and re-entry points, bag deposit counters, drinks points and dance arena.

2) Logistics / Operations

Job Scope: Ensure a smooth transition from the main Chingay Parade to the party and ensure the logistics required during the party are well taken care of.

Working Hours: 6.00pm - 4.30am

City Alive! 2010 will be held on Saturday, 20 Feb 2010! =D

it's organised by the PA and will be the high finale to the Chingay Parade 2010, touted as the largest and grandest Chingay in history!!
we'll be partying all the way from 10.15pm till 4am in the morning of Sunday.

tickets are going for $15 for PAssion card members and $20 for the public. P.S. i have a PAssion card ;-)

but i'm volunteering though. either as crowd control or logistics. haha

given a mini supervisory role during these 3 days, damn stressful but damn fun. haha learnt how hard it is to manage people, esp pple who gives you trouble. haha but all in all, i loved the experience this year, very different from last year's =) i still love last yr's too! :D HAHA

Beth Cooper that is! finished the last of my exams today! PHEW ~ (there's only 2 papers though, as compared to the past =X) but still, i'm relieved! like, who doesn't?! :DD

we caught the movie at J8 right after our exam which we left early, irritating invigilator though. we had brunch at MOS, of which i didn't manage to finish my meal coz it's spicy =( oh wells, dabao-ed it :P

we caught the 1st timeslot at 11.30am. there's was only 7 humans in the cinema when it started, and my group had 6 persons, so, yeah.

the movie was stupid but, not bad. hahha lame but funny. not really worth the ticket but it's $6.50, doesn't matter much. haha

my 1st celebration with the school.... heh

it reminds me of my secondary and primary school celebrations where we got pens, bags, files and that P5 National Education trip to the NDP Parade! my FIRST! =D remember the days......

we step out together in faith. remember the times, so fine, when we thought that nothing could stand in our way. then things weren't the same, the life that we knew, had to change. we struggled thru, the darkest storms, we thought we couldn't tame. together we've tried, as we stood side by side. i knew we'll build a new world, a world of hope forever after~

but well, at least tmr is a holiday. 4 DAYS LONG HOLIDAYS MAN!! :DDD
